Planning -- Teacher Process for Digital Video

Establishing Objectives:

If the goals of the digital video project are identified during the planning stage, then assessment options and rubrics easily follow. To help identify the curricular outcomes and educational objectives, examine the project's possible connections to:

Subject area standards (View some great examples of standards correlations).
Different aspects of literacy (Reading, writing, listening, speaking).
Providing creative ways to present knowledge and to communicate (View the descriptions of video styles).
Developing media literacy and becoming more critical consumers of media.
Providing opportunities for independent learning and creative problem solving
Encouraging cooperation, team building and social skills (View the list and descriptions of student roles).
Differentiating instruction (For different achievement levels and learning modalities).

Once objectives have been established, you may consider constructing the project rubric or allowing your students to help construct the rubric by which their projects will be assessed.
