VISIONS Interest List

Please be aware that due to the current budgetary crisis, the prospects for welcoming any additional staff into the Visions program are not looking positive through the 2008-2009 school year at this point. However, we will continue to keep you all updated as we develop new strategies for expanding program participation over time, and your name will remain on the "interest list" once you've completed this form so that, as opportunities arise, you could still be selected if interested at the time.

Dates & Times: To Be Announced
Multiple session options will be available throughout the school year.
Location: Educational Technology Resources Facility
Appropriate for: Teachers (All skill levels)
Presenters: Mike Johnson, Jim Epler, Ken Quisenberry and district faculty
Take me to the VISIONS Web Page!

Join us in exploring the most successful strategies, tools, and resources that technology can provide to reinforce and to extend fundamentally sound teaching practices. It’s time to unlock the power behind the technology (Enrollment at each school is extremely limited, so get your name on the "Interest List" now!)!

What Are Some Benefits to Me as a Teacher?

  • Access to instruction, collaboration, and support during training and curriculum development sessions

  • Access to expanded digital resources and technologies (e.g., UnitedStreaming account access, etc.).

  • Substitutes or stipend pay ($25/hour) for certain prescribed training & curriculum development sessions.

  • Ongoing opportunities for district-wide professional development and knowledge sharing.

  • Annual eligibility for priority access to check out a District LCD projector and/or a District instructor’s laptop computer for classroom usage on an annual renewal basis. The assurance of up-to-date, classroom-ready equipment for program participants will remain a program priority.

  15. Regarding my technology skill set, I'd rate myself as a(n):

  16. Absolute Beginner (I have no experience with computers).
Novice User (I use the computer every so often to do basic word processing but not much more. In fact, I would consider myself a bit of a "techno-phobe!" :-).
Intermediate User (I use the computer to read E-mail, search the Web, and other basic tasks but I don't feel like I'm taking advantage of its full capabilities to augment my teaching).
Proficient User (I've taken a technology training class(es), and I use my computer weekly to enhance my lesson presentions, research content, keep my grades, play multimedia, and communicate with parents, students, and peers).
Advanced User (I would consider myself very knowledgeable about multiple software programs and educational uses of technology. I rely on technology almost daily to enhance my curriculum and teaching, and I look for ways to have my students use it (student created Powerpoint presentations, Internet research, Webquest activities, digital video projects, spreadsheet creation, etc.) in assigned projects and other group activities).

Feel free to expand upon your choice above:
